London walk, picnic and afternoon theatre
Advance notice of a walk and - for those who wish - theatre afternoon on Thursday 19th August. The open-air theatre will present "Into the Woods", with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and takes the stories of the Brothers Grimm and gives them a dark and humorous twist.
We will meet at Victoria Station mid morning and walk through some of London's parks before arriving at Regents Park in time for a leisurely picnic. The production will start at 2.30 pm and we will make our own way home. Please note you will need to book your own ticket (prices from £ 10 - £ 35) well in advance by calling
0844 826 4242 or visiting www.openairtheatre.com. Further details, start time and meeting place in the next programme. Get booking.!..Annie Brough & Mike Bruce at enquiries

The Ramblers’ 75th Anniversary Baton Walk, 9th-11th Oct
We have been asked to publicize The Ramblers Greater London Forum’s staged walk of the London Loop, to celebrate The Ramblers’ 75th birthday. Three stages of this walk will cover the Bromley area, each starting at 10.30 am, on the following dates :
Saturday 9th October Old Bexley village to Jubilee Country Park – 7.25 miles. Start: Bexley station CP, finish: Petts Wood station
Sunday 10th October Jubilee Country Park to West Wickham Common – 9 miles. Start: Petts Wood station, finish: Hayes station
Monday 11th October West Wickham Common to Hamsey Green – 8.5 miles Start: Hayes station, finish: Hamsey Green.
The hope is that someone from Bromley Ramblers might be willing to lead (and back mark) the relevant sections; it’s suggested we take on the walks of 10th & 11th October as they both start in Bromley. If you are interested in helping, do let us know via enquiries@bromleyramblers.org.uk. And, please feel free to join any of the walks yourself or with family/friends
