Walk Programme Oct - Nov The Walk Info button (left) contains really useful information about the walks and how they are run. It is our 'frequently asked questions' If you have any specific queries about a walk, transport, parking, length, dogs, anything at all, simply email them to enquiries@bromleyramblers.org.uk identifying the walk by date and destination.
A linear walk to
Westerham with a pub/picnic lunch stop at the Tally Ho pub. We return
by bus 246 to the start point. Please note earlier start time
From Westerham we
follow the Greensand Way to a nice tea stop at Chartwell. Return
through woods.
A walk through orchards
and woodland, passing a large snake ! Lunch at Matfield. Please bring
a picnic lunch as the pub will be busy. Return via Cryals Farm and the
Isle of Wight.
A wander through
Scadbury Park and St. Pauls Cray Common.
A circular walk from
Shoreham station. A couple of early hills, then a pleasant meander
across open farmland and through woods. Lunch at the Chequers, one of
Brian's favourite pubs, that offers a range of real ales.
From Hever via Hill Hoath to Chiddingstone, then on towards Bough Beech and back to Hever. We follow the Eden Valley Walk for some of the way, crossing the river twice, so it may be muddy. Several stiles, but much of historical interest to see, and good views over the rolling countryside.
We drop down via French Street and Crockham Hill to our picnic lunch in the Staffhurst Wood area. The return/ascent back to the Greensand Ridge is via Limpsfield Chart and Tower Wood. Fantastic views throughout this hilly walk.
A walk to Filston Mill,
returning via Shoreham Church and The Terrace. There are some hills and stiles.
Comfortable pace.
A fairly level walk to Leigh, then back
via Birdcage Walk and the Eden Valley Walk. Lots of water features.
Not many stiles.
We shall be stopping at
The Chaser, Shipbourne Common for pub/picnic lunch, which is roughly the
half-way point. Good views, mud and all the usual stuff ! Please
note that the House and restaurant are closed on Wednesdays.
Across to Sundridge
Church, then uphill to Manor Farm and Shrubs Corner, returning past Green Lane
Farm.
A varied walk through
woods and farmland. We walk via Hartley Wood, Northdown
Leaving the CP, we soon enter the Fairlawne Estate and walk northwards to Dunks Green. Turning south, we visit the village of Plaxtol, pass Ightham Mote and return to Shipbourne.
A beautiful and varied
local walk with some stiles, some inclines but mainly just wonderful
countryside. Via Downe, through meadows and woodlands to Knockholt
Pound for pub/picnic lunch, home via Birches Croft and Cudham.
A pleasant stroll across fields, through woods and along the Terrace to Shoreham. Back to Otford via the golf course. Great views. One steep climb and 4 or 5 stiles.
An undulating walk with some fairly steep hills. Hopefully a chance to try out a new oak bench ! Pub/picnic lunch at Eynsford, return along the Darenth valley.
The walk follows a varied route through Chelsfield, nearby Goddington Park and surrounding farmland and woodland. We will see the church of St. Martin of Tours, Goddington House and Griff’s Wood. Reasonably flat terrain throughout.
We head east along the top of the Weald escarpment to Sheep Hill Wood and then make our way via Whitley and Montreal Park for a pub/picnic stop at The Bricklayer’s Arms, overlooking Chipstead Lake. Return via Sundridge and Willows Wood.
A walk through woods
and fields around Limpsfield Chart. It will be muddy in places.
Mostly field paths
alongside hedgerows. Could be muddy in places. Lunch stop at Holtye, the
White Horse pub, or picnic on the Green.
A hilly walk towards Romney Street. Comfortable pace.
We skirt Shingle Hill
and Wilmot Hill on the Greensand Way before descending to Shipbourne and then slowly uphill via Fatting Pen,
Broadhoath Wood and Great Roger’s Wood to Godden Green for pub/picnic lunch.
A shortish walk after lunch around the edge of
Knole
Park passing the aptly named
Rambles Wood and back onto the Greensand Way to One Tree Hill.
A walk in and around
High Elms. Back in time for refreshments at 15.30 before our AGM. ________________________________________________________________________

To Hartfield for lunch through lovely countryside and with some good views on the way. Good pub stop. As this is Remembrance Sunday, we shall be stopping for a short time around 11.00 am.
A walk through woods and fields, seeing the local villages Knockholt and Cudham. High up, so some good views. Several stiles, though some have been replaced by kissing gates, and some ups and downs.
A pleasant walk along part of the Darenth Valley, then up onto the North Downs. One very steep hill ! Pub/picnic lunch at Romney Street.
We head east from the car park and soon encounter our first stiff climb on our route towards Woodlands. This is a hilly walk ! Be prepared for some mud at this time of year. Lovely views.
Morning basically flat
with a tendency to go up to Tatsfield for lunch. Afternoon basically down.

Climb and skirt Broke
Hill Golf Course, pass Coolings and through woods to Norsted Manor Farm and
Fairtrough, back to Pratts Bottom. 2 climbs but taken at Sunday
afternoon pace !
This is a figure of
eight walk going S in the morning to Batchelor’s Farm and N in the afternoon
passing Moorhouse Sand Pits and Hookwood. Lunch will be in or near to
the Carpenters Arms. There are some hills.

Meet at Farnborough Church (please park considerately in the village). A circular walk passing via Green St Green to Cuckoo Wood and then through High Elms Country Park back to arnborough. _______________________________________________________________________________

A pleasant circular walk on the North Downs & Weald Way from Trosley Country Park to Luddesdowne village. Good views from Holly Hill. Lunch stop at Golden Lion or sandwiches at nearby church.
A hilly walk via Down
House and Cudham.
An anticlockwise loop
from Stubbs Wood to Charcott for a late lunch. After lunch, north via
Sevenoaks Weald and the Greensand Way. A torch might be useful !
Please note earlier start time
We head towards Horns Green in woodland and open fields, then start making our way towards the North Downs Way, which we follow back to our start. Fairly flat with lots of stiles. Will be muddy at this time of year.
We leave the car park
and walk back to Groombridge and then on via Burrswood, Stone Cross,
Fordcombe and Billingstone to reach Speldhurst for pub/picnic lunch.
Our return is via Langton Green. A slightly longer morning, which does
involve a little road walking.
A walk towards Downe.
